The concept for this website was to fulfil an assignment to create a 10 page website for a web design class. After much conversation with my instructor, he conviced me to make a website based on a game that I have played. The company who makes the game also releases a "fan site" kit so fans can make their own websites advertising the game for them. The text and main images are from the fan site kit, however they are placed into my design and page layout.
I wanted to make this website readable, yet attractive and inviting. I went with a simple design layout with ample white space and a standard font to make the content highly readable. The design of these pages is not only visual, but functional as the page utilizes structure of the XHTML language while the design is contained in a single CSS page for the site. This makes the website accessible to a variety of devices such as PDAs, screen readers, search engine crawlers and more. Using a single CSS page to define design elements makes updates on a site wide basis fast and easy.
